Hello ‘Or so she says…’ readers! It’s Adelle on behalf of Get Away Today. Since Kimberly just shared an awesome LEGOLAND article, I thought I’d follow up with something related. With Halloween just around the corner, this DIY LEGO bucket craft is perfect. Use it for trick or treating and then use it to store LEGO bricks so you’re less likely to step on them with bare feet. See below for this simple trick or treat LEGO bucket tutorial.

Trick or Treat LEGO Bucket

My family loves LEGOLAND and this year we did a fantastic vacation that included a stay the the LEGOLAND Hotel. My very favorite thing about LEGOLAND is seeing all of the amazing sculptures and structures that are built out of LEGO bricks. The attention to detail is so amazing! And, it’s nice for the older kids and parents to have something truly interesting to browse while the little kids enjoy rides and experiences tailored to them.

Did you know LEGOLAND has a fun event they put on during late September and into October called Brick-or-Treat Party Nights? Guests can purchase a special park pass to celebrate Halloween…LEGO style! You can take this trick or treat LEGO bucket with you, or just use it at home for your own celebrations. My kids have been using their LEGO head buckets to tote their LEGOs around the house. It is a quick and simple craft – my favorite kind.

Brick-or-Treat Party Nights offer themed shows, character meet and greets, costume contests, treat stations (that are loaded with candy), craft stations, dance parties, special seasonal decor and more! It is the perfect party for young kids and families who love LEGOs.

Trick or Treat LEGO Bucket – Template Downloads

I ordered my yellow buckets online from Amazon. You might also find them at a dollar store or a craft store like Michaels. The black vinyl is also available online, and you’ll only need one roll to make a handful of trick or treat LEGO buckets. If you are looking for the black vinyl at the regular store, check by the Cricut machine supplies.

Halloween LEGO Bucket – Getting Started

Print the LEGO bucket face templates above. There are four faces to choose from, and you can put more than one on your trick or treat LEGO bucket. I’ve noticed lately that LEGO minifigures tend to come with two facial expressions these days. You could totally just make up your own crazy faces to use on your LEGO bucket as well. The template is sized to fit a 6-inch bucket. If your bucket is bigger, you may want to increase the size when you set the print settings.

Cut the face from the template.

Lay the pattern onto the back of the vinyl sheet. Trace it with a pencil.

Cut out the shapes. Peel the sticky part off of the vinyl and then place it onto the side of the bucket.

LEGO Party Craft Bucket – Making Faces

I tried to center the face between the handle connections on the bucket. The vinyl is pretty forgiving, so you can peel it off and make adjustments if needed!

Mix and match the faces to create the perfect LEGO head for you!

My kids are looking forward to filling their buckets to the very top with candy. I think it is eating the candy that they are most excited about, though.
