This word search is full of words that remind me of Thanksgiving. Both the food and the fun! Thanksgiving is one of my most favorite holidays because it’s all about focusing on our blessings and being with family. If you were to choose 12 words that represent Thanksgiving to you, what would they be?
The other day I thought it would be fun to whip up something fun for Halloween. I thought these mini monster cookies would be a hit with the kids and get them in the holiday spirit. These would be fun to make for a halloween party, or forgo the candy eyes and make them for any party!
First grade is such an important year in school. My son did start learning to read in kindergarten, but struggled. This year I am really focused on keeping him on track with his reading. The school encourages 20 minutes of reading every night. 20 minutes is a lot for a first grader, but I do think it’s important to encourage him to read each night and I thought he would be more excited about it if we kept track on this printable reading log.
We LOVE popsicles at our house, but sometimes all that sugar is not so fun for mom. I thought it would fun if we made our own popsicles and adding some fruit and cutting back on the sugar to make it a little more healthy. The kids and I made these tropical peach popsicles with real peaches and fruit juices to combat our summer heat.
I’m always wanting to make learning fun and interesting so my son will actually get through it without complaining. Since we struggled throughout the school year, I wanted to make sure we practiced during the summer so he doesn’t fall behind once he starts 1st grade next year. Since he does enjoy math, I decided to come up with some printable math worksheets we could do this summer.
Hi there! It’s Liz from Liz on Call back to share with you another fun and delicious recipe. With summer quickly approaching, I’m always looking for fun ways to keep the kids busy and entertained. My kids love crafting and activities, but they also love to help in the kitchen. Especially my daughter. These jello popcorn balls are a fun recipe that the kids will love to help make.
Hey there friends! It’s Liz from Liz on Call. I’m excited to be back this month to share with you a yummy drink recipe! I know that in most parts of the country it’s just barely spring. But here in AZ we are already “enjoying” 90 degree weather. The summer has rushed in, like usual, which means I am thinking in terms of summer entertaining already. There is nothing that says classic summer gathering than a BBQ with fresh lemonade. I thought it would be fun however, to put a twist on a the classic, and created this kiwi mint lemonade.
Hello friends! It’s Liz from Liz on Call again. Are most of you fighting the crazy snow storms still? Here in AZ we have been enjoying spring weather for the last month. It’s been nice to open up the doors and windows to let some fresh air into the house. It also makes me feel like getting a start on a little spring cleaning. We get a LOT of dust here in the desert. And dusting makes my allergies go crazy! One of the things I tend to neglect when it comes to cleaning, is all the fake plants or greenery I have in my house. My mom shared this awesome trick on how to easily clean fake plants with me and I’m excited to share it with you.
Hi there! It’s Liz again, from Liz on Call. My family and I just recently returned home from a trip to Disneyland! We had such a fun time and I can’t wait to see what Disney will reveal in celebration of their 60th Anniversary. I have 3 young children, and if you’ve even had to go on a road trip with one child, you know it has potential for disaster. Today I’m excited to be sharing some fun tips for traveling with kids.
Hi there! My name is Liz and I blog over at Liz on Call. I’m excited to be part of the 2015 team here at Or So She Says! I just want to take a quick minute to introduce myself. I am a mom of 3 beautiful kiddos that are full of energy. My husband and I have been married 8 years and our family is our life.
Although we graduated from the same high school, the same year, we didn’t meet each other until 8 years later! Crazy right!?!? I was able to stay at home with our kids once our 2nd child was born and started blogging to share all the projects, recipes and crafts that I actually had time to work on while I was at home. It turned into more than a hobby and I have loved sharing my ideas with my readers. Where does the name Liz on Call come from? Well it just so happens that my last name is Call. But more than that, I think that as a mother, wife, friend, sister, church goer, woman… I am always on call to be whatever my family and friends need me to be. At Liz on Call I share recipes, simple crafts, kid crafts, gift ideas, party ideas and printables. We just moved into a new house and I can’t wait to start working on some new projects and sharing them there. Come stop and by and say Hi sometime!
For my first post here at Oh So She Says, I’m sharing a super delicious caramel cashew popcorn recipe! I absolutely love making flavored popcorn. And this recipe does not disappoint. When I was growing up my parents would take us to a local frozen custard shop and my dad would always order a caramel cashew mix. Once I tasted that, I was hooked! Since then, there has never been a need for me to try anything else. I always want to get caramels and cashews. The sweet caramel with that hint of salt from the cashews mixed with the creamy custard just can’t be beat. Since I love that combination with frozen custard I decided to give it a try with some popcorn. This caramel cashew popcorn is ooey and gooey and reminds me of going to the frozen custard shop with my family.
