Come Follow Me Primary Talks for March 2021
This month, we learn about the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It is such an important event in the history of the world! I love that the name of our church gives credit to the original founder, Jesus Christ. It is His Church. We are His people. What a beautiful concept to rediscover with the Primary children in these lessons.
March 7: The Church Is Restored
When Jesus was on the earth, He created an organized church. That means that he made special rules and guidelines for the people to follow. He had the priesthood. Jesus called 12 Apostles and set one apart as a Prophet.
After Jesus died, the organization scattered. It was lost.
Many years later, Joseph Smith reorganized the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on April 6, 1830. He was inspired to pattern the Church after the way Jesus did.
We are members of the Church of Jesus Christ. That is the most important part of our name! It is HIS church!
The second part of the church title is “of Latter Day Saints.” That part means that this is the restored church in the current time on Earth. We live in the latter days.
Joseph Smith was the prophet of the restoration. He brought the true Gospel back to the Earth. We are lucky to be part of such an important work!

March 14: Good Music
Does a song or tune ever get stuck in your head? Do you ever hear a song playing on the radio and then catch yourself humming the tune hours or even days later? Music has a special power.
Music can change your mood to make you feel pumped up, scared or even happy! Music is used in movies and sporting events to control the mood or pump up a crowd.
Sacred music has a very important role as well. The music we learn in Primary teaches us about the Gospel. It helps us to feel the Spirit. Music stays in our minds and hearts much longer than spoken words.
In the scriptures, we learn that Jesus loves the song of our hearts.
It is important to put good songs into our minds and hearts. When we listen to good music and learn the words to our Primary Songs, it helps our testimonies grow! It also gives us protection from temptation. I hope we can use the power of music to help us become more like Jesus.

March 21: To Always Remember Him
What are some things you do to remember an important event? Do you write it on a calendar? Put a sticky note on the fridge? Do you set an alarm on your phone or ask your mom to remind you? Have you ever tied a memory string around your finger?
It is not easy to remember everything all the time.
When we get baptized, we promise to always remember Jesus. That is a pretty big promise! Heavenly Father created a way for us to remember Jesus every week. It is like He set an alarm on our phones for us. It is called the sacrament.
When we eat the bread and drink the water, it reminds us of Jesus’ body and his blood. The words in the prayer tell us to “remember!”
The sacrament is a gift. It is our weekly reminder to think about Jesus. The sacrament helps us to keep our baptism promise.

March 28: I Can Prepare To Meet Jesus
Jesus is our older brother. He loves us so much. One day, Jesus is going to return to the Earth. It is called the Second Coming.
When Jesus comes to Earth, we want to be ready to greet him. When we are ready we will feel happy and excited to be with Him again! There are a few ways we can prepare.
First, we need to learn about Jesus. We can learn about him by reading the scriptures and listening to stories about His life on Earth.
Second, we should pray to Heavenly Father each day. When we pray, we feel closer to Jesus and Heavenly Father.
Third, we should follow His example! When we walk in His footsteps we can become more like Jesus. He has shown us the best way to live!
If we can do these three things, we will be ready to stand with Jesus when He comes again.
