Sweet and Sour Shrimp Skewers (she: Ruthie)

Goodmorning everybody! It’s Ruthie from Cooking with Ruthie back to share a quick and easy end of the summer grilling recipe…

If you’d like a fresh take on shrimp, try grilling it on a skewer with a sweet and sour sauce. It’s a nice flavor combination you can enjoy as you say goodbye to summer and hello to fall. The sauce is easy to whip up, and you keep the shrimp moist by basting while grilling for just a few minutes on each side. It really is easy and so worth the prep work.

Jana’s Amazing Breadsticks

I stole this recipe from my contributor, Jana. Okay, so not really. I asked permission. I had read about these amazing breadsticks in her post on the Contributor Blog Hop I did, where we got to know the different contributors here on OSSS. One of the questions I asked was for everyone to share their most requested recipe. (If you haven’t checked out the blog hop, you totally should. Great recipes and fun reads there!) Anyway, Jana’s answer was these breadsticks. Naturally, I had to try them, and they went perfect with the big spaghetti dinner we had last Sunday. The whole family LOVED them. And, I loved that they were so easy to make. You just press the flattened dough into a sheet pan and use a pizza cutter to cut the breadsticks into shape, no rising needed. So fast!

So, thank you to Jana, for letting me share her recipe on ‘Or so she says…’.

Heirloom Tomato Caprese Salad (she: Ruthie)

Good morning to all my friends at Or so she says…

It’s Ruthie from Cooking with Ruthie and I’m so excited to be back again with you today! I love my garden and creating delicious ways to use the veggies that it produces is just so much fun.

Heirloom Tomato Caprese Salad is one of my favorite ways to eat fresh tomatoes.

Well, actually… Caprese anything and I’m all over it! I’m seriously totally in love with that fresh mozzarella and basil- you’ll never get me away from the table 🙂

The only tomatoes that are ripe in my garden so far are the Sunburst variety BUT, I am growing several different varieties of heirloom tomatoes and I just can’t wait for them to ripen up!

Greek Yogurt Dip Recipe – Perfect for Summer Produce!

Hey there, Or So She Says friends! It’s Cathy from Lemon Tree Dwelling, here today to share a fabulous SKINNY summer recipe with you! It’s that time of year…..bathing suit time….which, around here, is always a little bit daunting. This year it is especially daunting, because I just had a BABY!!
Made with plain Greek yogurt, Greek seasoning, minced garlic, lemon juice, kosher salt, and fresh ground pepper, this dip is naturally fat free, full of protein, and perfect for dipping your favorite summer veggies. It would be extra delicious with a sprinkle of feta cheese….but that sorta takes away the “skinny”. Either way, it has become my favorite new way to eat veggies…during bathing suit season, post-baby, or anytime!

Disneyland’s Bengal Barbecue Recipe Round-up

Hey Everyone, it’s Adelle from Packed with Fun, the official blog for Get Away Today. Summer is the season for two of my favorite things: Disneyland vacations and barbecue. My combined love for the two inspired me to re-create the recipes for one of my family’s most craved meals at Disneyland – Bengal Barbecue. My kids love the skewers because they are yummy and fun to eat. I love them for the same reasons, but also because they’re one of the more affordable meal options inside the park. At $4 a skewer, it can’t be beat… unless you make them at home!

Whole Wheat No-Knead Bread Recipe (she: Maria)

Hello, Everybody! This is Maria from Shopgirl stopping by again to share a recipe with you! I’m so excited to share this recipe with you today, because I’ve been trying out and tweaking so many different bread recipes over the past couple of months, and this one is one of my favorites! I have made a couple variations of this whole wheat no-knead bread, and this version has great texture and flavor, and would be perfect to go along with some soup or a big salad in the summertime! What I love most about this recipe is not only that you don’t need to knead it, but that you simply mix all the ingredients in a bowl, cover it and let the dough sit for about 12 – 20 hours and then just bake it off and you have a beautiful loaf of bread! I usually prepare the dough in the evening and let it sit all night and then bake it in the morning. Here’s how you make it…

Mozzarella Bubble Biscuits (she: Samantha)

Hi, friends! It’s Samantha from Five Heart Home and I’m happy to be back today with another quick and easy recipe that’s as tasty as it is versatile!
Warm, soft biscuits — topped with a dollop of spaghetti sauce and a sprinkling of Parmesan — conceal a gooey, stringy, cheesy center, making these Mozzarella Bubble Biscuits a perfect party appetizer, kid-friendly snack, or accompaniment for an Italian meal.
If you’re anything like me, your favorite food group rankings go something like this: bread, cheese, butter. Okay, okay…I know that those aren’t technically food groups in and of themselves, but they are certainly some of my favorite things to eat! And today’s recipe includes two of the three, which pretty much makes it a winner in my book.

White Chocolate Cheesecake Fruit Dip (she: Samantha)

Hi, friends! It’s Samantha from Five Heart Home and I’m so glad to be back visiting Or So She Says this month with another fun recipe! I hope that everyone is having a great April and finally enjoying some spring weather. Today I brought by one of my favorite recent creations: a creamy fruit dip that boasts the flavor of white chocolate cheesecake! It’s the perfect accompaniment to fresh berries, apple slices, pineapple wedges, you name it! Although it’s so good you may find yourself bypassing the fruit and sneaking bites with a spoon…hypothetically speaking, of course. 😉
This white chocolate cheesecake fruit dip is a spin-off of one of my favorite springtime dessert recipes that happens to include a layer of white chocolate cream. In the process of perfecting that recipe, I tried different variations of the white chocolate cream, resulting in several leftover batches before deciding on the best version. Delicious as it was, I couldn’t figure out what to do with all of it until it occurred to me that it would make a mouthwatering dip for fruit. So today’s recipe is a happy consequence of those leftovers, slightly adapted to have a thicker, more dip-like consistency.
