GhostTunes, Garth Brooks’ New Single & Giveaway

GhostTunes, Garth Brooks’ New Single & Giveaway

I have my high school friend and then my husband to thank for introducing me to country music and for turning me into a fan! There’s just something genuine and approachable about country music, especially older country music. My husband loves “classic” country, and of course that means he has a lot of Garth Brooks’ music. I was excited to tell him (and you all) about Garth’s brand new single, “Mom.”

“Mom” is a very moving song about a conversation God has a with a little baby who’s headed to Earth to meet his/her mother. The lyrics of the song describe what a mother is, and it’s incredibly touching. I challenge you to listen to it and not cry.

A Teacher’s Favorite Music for Halloween (she: Teresa)

As I have been making lesson plans, I thought about all of you! Many are moms, aunts, grandmas, maybe even sister’s to younger siblings. No matter what, most of us have young children somewhere in our lives so I thought I would share some of my musical knowledge with you! I love to try out my songs on my little nieces and nephews to see what they think first!

I love it when my students get excited about the classical music I play for them. I always play something for them when they walk into my class and then when I am finished they tell me how it made them feel or what it made them think of. This is great for kids because sometimes it helps them to express emotion and it also gets their imaginations working! Afterward I tell them a little about the piece.

“We Are Amazing!” Children’s CD Review & Giveaway

“Music is a more potent instrument than any other for education.” — Plato

I’ve always loved a good quote, and this is one of my new favorites! Music is so important, and I’m so grateful that I married a man who LOVES music and that all three of my kids love to listen to music and “shake it” whenever possible. I’m always on the look out for new “kid” music that won’t make me want to go hide in a sound proof closet. You know … something that will keep the kids happy while we’re riding in the car but that I won’t mind having stuck in my head all day!

So, I was very excited to get the chance to review Bobbi Hansen’s CD, “We Are Amazing!” The testimonials online from educators, parents and even kids were glowing!
