Easy Crepes… whip them up in no time! (she: Maria)

Hello Everyone! This is Maria from Shopgirl coming over to share another recipe with you today! Crepes are one of my absolute favorite things to eat, both sweet and savory ones, so I’m super excited to share this recipe with you today! It takes a little bit of practice to learn how to make the perfect crepe (and the first one or two of every batch I make are never perfect!), but it’s a cooking skill well worth learning because they are so good, and so quick to whip up! All you need are a couple of ingredients whisked together, and a couple minutes to make the crepes! You can serve them sweet for a big breakfast or dessert, with some berries, ice-cream and whipped creme or with Nutella and bananas (one of my favorites!), or savory with a whole variety of fillings…. some of my favorites being spinach or mushroom

Disneyland’s Bengal Barbecue Recipe Round-up

Hey Everyone, it’s Adelle from Packed with Fun, the official blog for Get Away Today. Summer is the season for two of my favorite things: Disneyland vacations and barbecue. My combined love for the two inspired me to re-create the recipes for one of my family’s most craved meals at Disneyland – Bengal Barbecue. My kids love the skewers because they are yummy and fun to eat. I love them for the same reasons, but also because they’re one of the more affordable meal options inside the park. At $4 a skewer, it can’t be beat… unless you make them at home!

Grilled Italian Sausage Sandwiches (she: Cathy)

Happy Thursday to all my friends at Or So She Says! And not just any Thursday….but the Thursday before Memorial Day weekend….the unofficial kick-off to summer. Do you have any big plans for the weekend? Whether you are having a big party, getting together with family and friends, or just staying home, I have a delicious last minute meal for you: Grilled Italian Sausage Sandwiches!
I grew up on Italian Sausage Sandwiches….my mom used to make them in the crock pot with green peppers and marinara sauce….and what I love about them is that they are jam packed with flavor! Whereas burgers and hot dogs (the usual grill suspects) rely on the condiments to do all the work, Italian Sausages hardly need condiments at all! (Of course, the condiments definitely don’t hurt….!)
It can’t get much easier than this, so check it out today!

Delicious Homemade Pretzel Dogs (she: Maria)

Hello, dear friends! Happy Monday! This is Maria from Shopgirl stopping by again, and I’m excited to share one of my favorite homemade treats with you today! Every time I walk into a mall, it only takes a couple of minutes before I’m hit by that heavenly smell of freshly baked pretzels and I start craving one of those delicious treats. I love making soft pretzels at home, and these pretzel dogs are just as easy to make, and are so good! Here is how you can make them…

Killer Spaghetti Sauce Recipe (Make a Lot, Freeze the Rest) (she: Jamie)

This spaghetti sauce recipe kills the competition!

I know that’s a bold statement since I’m sure your Grandma has a great recipe too, but this is beyond delicious and has been known to turn people into spaghetti addicts! It’s one of the reasons I added this spaghetti sauce to my Food Storage Plan first, because if I had live on it for a year that wouldn’t bother me one bit!

The best part is this recipe makes a ton – so you can freeze the extra, can it for storage, give some to neighbors, or eat spaghetti sauce for a straight week (or a year, depending on how much you make)!

Crab Stuffed Lobster (she: Maria)

Hi Everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend, and that this new month has started off well for you! I am so happy that March is here, since it means that the official beginning of spring is just a couple of days away now! And after this long, cold winter, that’s pretty good news! I’m excited to be back here and share another recipe with you today! If you don’t know me yet, I’m Maria from Shopgirl, and if you missed last month’s recipe (my Heart Shaped Puff Pastry Pockets) you can find it HERE! Today I’m sharing this Crab Stuffed Lobster with you, that makes for a perfect special dinner! My husband and I both love seafood, and love the fact that there is so much delicious seafood in Maryland, where we moved a little over a year ago. This recipe is basically a crab cake stuffed/topped lobster tail and if you’re a seafood lover, you will love this!

BBQ Ranch Chicken Wrap … a la Cheesecake Factory (she: Cathy)

Hello again to all my friends at Or so She Says! It’s Cathy from Lemon Tree Dwelling and I’m so happy to be back today sharing this delicious BBQ ranch chicken wrap with you. It’s inspired by one of my all-time favorite salads from The Cheesecake Factory and is loaded with all kinds of goodness….like grilled corn and avocado and black beans and crispy onion rings….all smothered in a combination of ranch dressing and BBQ sauce. In other words, it’s pretty much the best wrap ever!!
I was inspired to make it after a recent trip to The Cheesecake Factory to celebrate my neighbor’s birthday. I have GREAT neighbors – we are lucky that way – but since the winter weather has been so brutal, none of us has set foot outside! So it had been forever since we’d seen one another! That’s typically how it goes in wintertime, at least around here…..we can go months without ever laying eyes on the people who live right next door!

Baked Ziti ~ Kid-Friendly (and awesome!)

Alright, who is going to be the first person to look at my picture and tell me that’s not Baked Ziti… it’s penne… ?? I know, I know! I kinda just like penne noodles better because they’re not so big. But, penne, ziti, rigatoni… whatever you choose, your family will love this. I know mine does! It’s man-friendly (plenty of meat), kid-friendly (no onion or tomato chunks), and mom-friendly (easy to make!) When I ask the kids what to make for our big Sunday dinner, this recipe for Baked Ziti is often at the top of the list.

Butternut Squash Soup (she: Ruthie)

Hi to all of my friends at Or so she says , it’s Ruthie from What’s Cooking with Ruthie.

I’m SO excited to be back this month to share another yummy with y’all! I love to make delicious soups but I especially love it in the winter time! Do you love butternut squash? I do, but sometimes it’s hard to cut it all up when you’re in a hurry. I found some awesome frozen butternut squash at the grocery store and it makes this soup lickity-split to throw together!

Chicken Alfredo ~ My Husband is Obsessed!

So, this is actually an old post. I mean REALLY old… one of my firsts on the blog! The pictures were literally so horrible that I can’t imagine that one single person would ever want to make it. But, since the recipe is a fave in my house, I figured it was worth a little redo and re-post.

It’s not reasonable to go to Olive Garden every day, so every woman needs a fab and easy chicken alfredo recipe. I found this one online, way back in the days, can’t remember where (I think maybe All Recipes or one of those big collection sites.) But, it’s fabulous. My husband, a self-proclaimed alfredo snob, swears this is his favorite. He says just as good, probably better than the O.G. Whoo! That’s always fun to hear. 🙂 Served with a green veggie and some garlic bread… mmm, baby.

Slow Cooker Curried Chicken and Chickpea Stew

On a recent family vacation to Bear Lake, my sister-in-law (and lovely assistant), Rebecca, was in charge of dinner for the night. She made this fabulous meal that everyone devoured and I realized this girl has been holding out on me! I instantly demanded she give me all of her good recipes, and like a good assistant should, she did. I guess I’ll keep her around a little longer. 🙂 Anyway, this Slow Cooker Curried Chicken and Chickpea Stew is one of the recipes she emailed me. My kids love Indian food and I love an easy meal in the slow cooker, so I knew this was just the one to try first. Yes, my friends. Yes. It was scrum-diddly-umptious. I’m sure she’s freaking out right now because it probably looks different than her recipe. Last minute, I was feeling naughty and dropped a bar of cream cheese in the stew to make it more of a creamy gravy, rather than a soup. But, it was awesome both ways. We were taste-testing it with the cream cheese and without, and none of us could decide. So, I’ll share the recipe as given and if you want to add cream cheese, feel free. The only other change I made, okay, well two… I forgot to buy onions, so I just gave a few shakes of dehydrated onions. Also, because I don’t do tomato chunks, I used crushed tomatoes instead.

Mediterranean Tuna Wrap (she: Cathy)

One of our favorite “go-to” sandwiches is tuna melts….but since we typically love tuna melts with tomato soup, it’s a little hard to enjoy them in the heat of summer! So I decided to take one of our favorites and re-make it, summer style. We LOVE all things Mediterranean, especially in the summer….and let me just tell you, Mediterranean + tuna = delicious!!

I used so many of my favorite ingredients in this Mediterranean Tuna Wrap – olive oil, feta cheese, sun dried tomatoes, kalamata olives, and fresh veggies – mixed them with albacore tuna, and wrapped them in a whole wheat tortilla.
