Buttermilk Syrup for Banana Pecan Pancakes!

Last weekend, one of my new contributors took me to breakfast. It was awesome, for several reasons. One of them being because SHE is awesome. (Check out her blog, Lindsay Ross Blog!) The other reason is because I got to have the yummiest pancakes that I’ve been thinking/drooling about ever since. And, so I made some. Bad, bad girl. I can’t stop eating them and I’m going to gain a million pounds! Aghhh! We’re leaving on a cruise this weekend, and here I am splurging already.

So, these are mega-easy. (Mega is my new word-of-choice, just so you know.) Oh, maybe I should tell you what they are first…

Russian Tea ~ Perfect for Sore Throats & Chilly Weather!

Sore throats have been rampant at my house. The minute we think it’s clearing up, it’s back and worse than ever. Bleh. I recently stumbled across a recipe for Russian Tea. I had never tried it before, but it sounded nice, hot, and maybe even soothing for our sore throats. But, most of the recipes I found had Tang in it and that sounded kinda icky, but I loved the idea of a citrus cider, as opposed to apple cider, which I had been drinking daily. I finally found a recipe that didn’t use Tang and I was so excited… but, I didn’t love it. So, I did what I usually do… call my gourmet-chef-mother and beg her for help. She had just the recipe for me and I love it.

‘You’re So Kool’ Valentine Printable

I needed something cheap and easy for my little girl’s Kindergarten class, as far as Valentines go. So, I went roaming up and down the grocery store aisles, trying to think of something kids love. And, then I saw it. An entire bin filled with those nasty Kool-Aid drinks, that my kids are always begging for. They were in a six pack for just $1.25. That worked for me! Now, to just come up with a Valentine to go with them…I think I got it! Isabelle was so excited to bring them to her class and was hoping she would have a few left over, that she could guzzle later.

Sunday Sunshine

Happy Sunday! I recently mentioned in my The Moment I Realized Family History is Awesome post that I’m part of a family history class at church. We spend a lot of time talking about the importance of keeping our own personal history. It got me thinking how a lot of what I write on this blog is part of my personal history that can be passed down. I love that!

With that in mind…

After my family history class, I transition to Relief Society. That’s the class at church for them women. It’s my favorite one. With all the chaos of life, the moment I sit down in Relief Society, I feel exactly that… relief.

The Moment I Realized Family History Is AWESOME!

The Moment I Realized Family History Is AWESOME!

This post started out as a promo for RootsTech, a class I’m teaching, and a giveaway… but, I change it all and decided to tell you about a special experience and realization I had. You can find the other stuff at the bottom of this post.

Get comfortable.

Let me tell you a little story… a few years back, my husband and I were asked to attend a family history class at church. We both went into it with the wrong attitudes. I felt like, ‘Family history is super cool… but, I just don’t have time for one more thing right now.’ My husband was like, ‘Family history is super lame. That’s all.’ But we went to the class, to support our bishop… and maybe to socialize. That’s the truth.

Apple Cinnamon Bran Muffins

So, somehow I got it in my mind that I was craving bran muffins. Does that happen to normal people? I made these Apple Cinnamon Bran Muffins, and they were amazing. So amazing, that I think I think all efforts of eating healthy went out the window, as I believe I ate 7 of them, when they came out of the oven. According to My Fitness Pal app, I had exceeded my entire calorie/fat/carb allotment for the entire day. Yep.

So, 2014 was awesome and the contributors killed it. I did a little research and put together this list of the top 10 most pinned posts of the year. And here they are!

20 Must-Read Christmas Books for Kids

I love collecting Christmas books. They’re such an easy and fun way to create a special moment with the kids and build upon the holiday excitement. After Christmas is over, I pack them away with all of the decorations, so each year when I pull them out, the kids are excited to see the, all over again!

I wanted to add some books to our stack this year, so of course, I hit up my trusty Facebook gals! (You girls always have the best suggestions!)

My Favorite Sephora Beauty Picks

Sephora. Ahhh… one of my favorite places to shop! For as little make-up as I wear, I still love trying everything! … hair products, make-up, face creams, hand lotion, body scrubs, you name it. But, you know me. I have this strange need to try all products, which is fab for you, because then I can recommend the best!

So, since I have several Sephora faves, I decided it deserves its own post…
