Vistaprint Deals & ‘Your Great Idea’ Link Party #39

Vistaprint Deals & ‘Your Great Idea’ Link Party #39

I’m always on the look out for thoughtful and unique gifts that won’t break the bank as I have six siblings, their spouses, in-laws, good friends, etc. to think about around Christmas and birthdays. After awhile though, I start to run out of ideas. So, a couple of Christmases ago, I came across some deals that Vistaprint was offering and inspiration struck!

That year, my father-in-law received a photo calendar featuring photos of his three grandkids. My sister-in-law’s gift was a personalized t-shirt with caricatures of her, my brother and their cute kids (that I got to create myself)! And my dear friend, who is particularly hard to buy for, was the recipient of coordinating stationary, note cards and sticky notes with their family name and address on them…

3 Reasons to love the Junior Ranger program (she: Allison)

Family travel doesn’t get any better than in the national parks. National parks are the best places to see our nation’s most spectacular scenery and best cultural destinations. National parks offer activities for all ages. National parks are also an incredible bargain. Admission to most parks is $25 per vehicle (or less) for seven days.

The U.S. National Parks are also the home of the Junior Ranger Program, which has been a lot of fun for our family. My children have collected Junior Ranger badges from a dozen national parks, national monuments and national historic sites in several states. We have also found a few state parks that offer their own junior ranger programs.

Giant Cinnamon Rolls (she: Kate)

The mall is trouble for me – not because of the shopping but because I love all the treats there! And the cinnamon rolls at the mall are one of my biggest weaknesses. They smell like buttery, sugary, carby Heaven, and they taste even better.

These cinnamon rolls have all of the gooey, buttery, cinnamon goodness and are topped with a rich cream cheese frosting. So, you get all of the cinnamon roll deliciousness without the hassle of a trip to the mall.

Hello, Weekend: Snapshots & ‘Your Great Idea’ Link Party #38

Who’s on Instagram?? I’ve been putting a little somethin-somethin together…can’t tell you about it yet. But, in a couple weeks, I’ve got something fun for you. Stay tuned (and be sure to follow on Instagram! @orsoshesays) In the mean time, here’s some of my favorite Instagram pics, from the past week:

So, I love this picture. We were at my son’s ballgame last week. I had all six kids by myself, and my two year old was having an absolute tantrum. He had just fallen asleep in the car, right as we pulled up to the field. So, he was a wreck. Deliriously tired, grouchy, and crying really loud. While his madness was clearly drawing all sorts of attention to myself, and I was juggling all my other kids, I just stopped, took a deep breath, and looked around… this is what I saw.

Blueberry Lemon Pina Colada (she: Jana)

There’s just something about a summer night that begs for a nice cool drink while lounging in your favorite chair (or even better…a hammock!) on your porch or patio. Am I right? I would be relaxing every night as the sun was going down, watching a beautiful sunset and sippin’ something wonderful if it weren’t for those pesky mosquitos! I’m a magnet for them! If anyone has a good trick to keeping them away that doesn’t include dousing yourself with disgusting insect repellant I’d LOVE to hear from you!

This is a favorite summertime drink of my families. So refreshing! And although the recipe includes Lemon-lime soda, it is really good without it as well.

Summertime is here and that means summer vacations are just around the corner! Disneyland is without a doubt one of the most popular summer vacation destinations. There is so much to do at the Disneyland Resort – even during busy travel times. Of course, it’s nice to visit when crowds are low, but there are some perks to visiting during summer – extended hours and seasonal entertainment are just a couple.

Here is my top 20 list of favorite things to do at Disneyland, when it’s crowded. Oh, AND…did you hear how Disneyland raised their prices?? Well, I can still get you the old price for about one more week, plus save you a few more bucks! …come read the rest of the post!

‘Happy Birthday, dear family…’ ~ Celebrating Your Anniversary With The Kids!

Dan and I just celebrated our 13 year anniversary, on June 2nd. Yay!!! It happened to fall on a Sunday, the day we go to church, don’t shop, eat out, etc. So, we celebrated on Friday. It was super fun. We decided to get an overnight babsitter and do a little stay-cation in Ogden, just 10 minutes from our house. We found a great hotel, walked the historic streets, saw a flick, and ate way too much food. I loved it!

Anyway, so since we ended up being home on our actual anniversary, I started to think about how it’s sorta-like our family’s birthday…so, why not celebrate with the kids?? It was a last minute decision, so I didn’t have all the fixins I would have liked, but it still ended up being a wonderful night with the fam.

DIY Bug Jar Caddy ~ Fun Summer Craft! (she: Brooke)

We’re back with our talented group of 10 blogger besties to share June’s themed hop. Head on over to their blogs to see and save their projects after viewing ours. June’s theme is MASON JARS for this beautiful summer weather! Today we’re talking bugs. I have three boys under the age of six, and when summertime hits, they’re all about bugs. Rarely a day goes by in the summertime when I don’t hear, “MOM! GET A JAR QUICK!” (sound familiar?). At the end of last summer I decided I needed a place for just bug jars. I was dishing out all my good jars for bug houses. So, when Mariel told me the theme for June’s blog hop was Mason jars, I knew exactly what I wanted to do- finally make my bug jar caddy.
