Slow Cooker Chunky Clam Chowder (she: Gina)

Hi there everyone!!! It’s Gina from Kleinworth & Co. Hope you all are as excited about this chilly fall weather as I am. The colors have faded here in North Idaho & the trees are bare. It won’t be long before the snow has fallen. Which means it’s time for soup. I love throwing a bunch of ingredients into the slow cooker & smelling that wonderfulness drifting through the house all day long. Then when it’s dark & it’s dinner time we can sit down for a warm bowl of something delicious. My current favorite is this slow cooker Chunky Clam Chowder.

Hairfinity Review ~ Helping Hair From the Inside Out

I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t looking for ways to make my hair look fuller and thicker! I’ve tried everything from back-combing, to texturizing to coloring my hair just to try and make it look like I have more than I actually do. And to add insult to injury, my hair has started falling out more aggressively as I get older. So, when I had a chance to review Hairfinity Hair Vitamins, I jumped on it!

Bacon Apple Cheddar Biscuits (she: Cathy)

These biscuits are soft, buttery, cheesy, and loaded with the delicious flavors of apple and bacon. They come together in a saucepan in just minutes, you bake them in muffin tins, and they make the perfect accompaniment to any dish. Namely turkey, or potatoes, or cranberries, or stuffing, or salad…! As for the theme, I’m thinking bacon! Can you really go wrong??

Come check out this delicious recipe for yourself!

Disney Inspired Apples – Tips and Tricks (she: Adelle)

Hey Everyone, it’s Adelle from Packed with Fun, the official blog for Get Away Today. We love all things Disney, and let’s face it, candied apples are one of the best things about fall. So, we combined two of our greatest loves and have put together four different types of Disney inspired apples.
Some tricks for making your own apples – freeze your apples the night before dipping them in caramel. Then, be sure to refrigerate your apples for as long as possible before dipping in chocolate. Again, we recommend overnight if possible.

Now, onto the Disney-fication of your caramel apples!

Cheesy Bacon Potato Soup in a Bread Bowl (she: Jana)

Happy Fall Or So She Says readers! It’s Jana here again from Double the Deliciousness and I’ve got a recipe that is so hearty, cheesy and perfect for Fall that it’ll be a staple on your Fall menu. For my family it’s a weekly staple!

I love that it is pretty inexpensive (minus the bacon…jeeze it’s getting out of control!) and easy to throw together. We don’t even peel our potatoes, just wash well and dice. This cheesy bacon potato soup can be ready in about 30 minutes. Perfect!

Support Our Troops with Marie Callender’s

If you’ve ever lived outside of America, you know there are many things from home that you start to miss. Imagine being part of the many deployed troops who live in remote locations for extended periods of time with almost none of the comforts of home. Some of our readers may not have to imagine what that would be like. But for the rest of us, it’s something we can only begin to understand. However, we can ALL help make remote operating bases more enjoyable by supporting Marie Callender’s Comforts From Home Project – “a program dedicated to bringing the heartwarming feelings, flavors, and favorites of home to those who miss it most.”

Overcoming Challenges – Teaching Kids for Family Night

Overcoming Challenges – Teaching Kids for Family Night

Happy October! It’s Veronica and it’s so fun to be back this month with another fun Family Night idea for you. For anyone new to Family Night, we basically gather our family once a week, have a short lesson, play some sort of game and then have a treat at the end. I love it because it gives us a time The best advice I can give them for overcoming challenges in life is to be humble, teachable and always willing to adapt.that’s set aside each week for us to learn together as a family and to have fun together.

This month, I thought I’d put a fun Halloween spin on it.

Lately, we’ve had different children who have been struggling with different things. So, I wanted to do a Family Night that would help them in some way as they face these challenges. Although their challenges seem very small in some ways, to them they are huge.

Moving on to Family Night…

15 Tricks for Picky Eaters (she: Mariah)

Hello again! I’m glad to be back today with some great posts that I’ve rounded up that just may make living with your picky eater a little bit easier. To be honest, I don’t have much experience with picky eaters. My baby hasn’t quite figured out how to refuse what I choose to spoon into his mouth yet, so for now, life is good! However, you better believe I’m pinning these posts in case I need them for future reference. I hope you find some of these tricks for picky eaters helpful!

Craftsy Review ~ FREE Professional Family Portraits Class

Craftsy Review ~ FREE Professional Family Portraits Class

I grew up going with my family to a department store portrait studio every year throughout my childhood. My memories of this annual event include sitting in the waiting room while my five brothers fought, the photographer’s awed expression as he tried to figure out how to fit ALL nine of us in the shot, my baby sister crying while the photographer begged my other siblings to look at him, not the baby … I could go on! While I love looking back at our family portraits through the years, it’s not a tradition I’ve continued with my family. I prefer more relaxed family portraits taken anywhere but in a studio. It never occurred to me to have our next family portrait session in our home, but I love the idea! And after watching all the lessons including in Craftsy’s FREE Professional Family Portraits Class, I feel confident enough to try it!
