There’s nothing better than having a fresh desktop staring back at you, especially when your email inbox is the exact opposite.
At this very moment, I’m smack dab in the middle of what is surely one of the craziest ideas I’ve ever had, but I’m happy to be taking a much needed break today to share a quick and easy DIY project so perfect for Summer: milk bottle vases! They’re such a nice pop of color in my home.
I don’t know about you, but I’m a bit of a home body. Going home after a vacation, going home for the holidays, going home after a long day at school or work. I have yet to find anything that replaces that special, familiar, comforting feeling of returning home. I want my boys to have that same feeling. I cannot wait to see what life has in store for each of them. I know they’ll go out into the world, have many experiences and adventures. But as a mother, I want nothing more than to create an atmosphere in my home that invites them to return again and again.
First of all, let me explain visiting teaching. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, we are in a congregation where we are asked to go and visit certain ladies each month to really get to know them, share a quick message and find out if they have any needs that need to be met. It’s one of the ways we build friendships and help our leaders know any needs that families have. (There would be too many for them to visit them all!) So why do I love printables + visiting teaching? I LOVE putting to paper thoughts and quotes that inspire and uplift me, my family and those around me and visiting teaching has been such a blessing in my life. I have met so many incredible women who have blessed my life through both visiting teaching and being taught as well! I love the thought of leaving a little thought for them to hang up and think about throughout the month.

I always try to make our home warm and welcoming. I think a wreath on the door or in the entry does that perfectly. This one was created for our mudroom. Do you need inspiration for your wreath? Try looking through a magazine, or check out Pinterest. I love to start with a simple grapevine wreath. The one I used is from the Target’s bargain aisle for only $3.00.
I don’t know about you, but I am officially over winter! Spring fever is hard to catch with all this cold and snowy weather we’ve had (and I live in the south!) but I’ve started to dream of green grass, flowers, and bright and sunny days anyway.
