I have tried many cinnamon rolls in my life, as I’m sure you have. It seems that most are either too dense, too hard, don’t have enough frosting, or just don’t taste that great. At one point, I was a loyal daughter, committed to my mother’s cinnamon rolls. But, one day my sister-in-law brought over […]

It has felt like spring for weeks! Which makes me want everything lemon! In my food, in my laundry, in my cleaning products, even in my car. Everywhere!! That’s why I decided it was time to make lemon blueberry drop scones.

Quick Whole Wheat Dinner Rolls (she: Leesh and Lu)
We love serving rolls or bread with our dinner, especially during soup season! Usually yeast breads require several hours of advanced planning, which isn’t always do-able on a busy weeknight. These quick dinner rolls, however, cut out the first rise on the dough and are ready in under an hour.
Chocolate Chai Banana Bread (she: Jen from Baked by an Introvert)
Jen from Baked by an Introvert back with another great recipe for you! I am a huge fan of baking with bananas. Seriously, it seems like I create one banana inspired recipe a week. From muffins to cupcakes to cookies, I’m hooked on all things banana.
I had some over ripe bananas on my counter so I decided to whip up a super moist bread. An incredibly indulgent banana bread loaded with chocolate, chai, and bits of caramel filled chocolate chips.
Apple Cinnamon Bran Muffins
So, somehow I got it in my mind that I was craving bran muffins. Does that happen to normal people? I made these Apple Cinnamon Bran Muffins, and they were amazing. So amazing, that I think I think all efforts of eating healthy went out the window, as I believe I ate 7 of them, when they came out of the oven. According to My Fitness Pal app, I had exceeded my entire calorie/fat/carb allotment for the entire day. Yep.
Jana’s Amazing Breadsticks
I stole this recipe from my contributor, Jana. Okay, so not really. I asked permission. I had read about these amazing breadsticks in her post on the Contributor Blog Hop I did, where we got to know the different contributors here on OSSS. One of the questions I asked was for everyone to share their most requested recipe. (If you haven’t checked out the blog hop, you totally should. Great recipes and fun reads there!) Anyway, Jana’s answer was these breadsticks. Naturally, I had to try them, and they went perfect with the big spaghetti dinner we had last Sunday. The whole family LOVED them. And, I loved that they were so easy to make. You just press the flattened dough into a sheet pan and use a pizza cutter to cut the breadsticks into shape, no rising needed. So fast!
So, thank you to Jana, for letting me share her recipe on ‘Or so she says…’.
Raspberry Lemon Bread with Glaze (she: Zainab)
Hello OSSS friends…it’s Zainab from Blahnik Baker here again to share with you a delicious, sweet, raspberry lemon bread recipe.
This raspberry lemon bread is made with white whole wheat flour and hazelnut flour. The nutty flavor and texture of hazelnuts are incredible with fresh raspberries. The amount of oil used is less than most recipes out there and this uses Greek yogurt for added moisture. This summer bread is everything a great sweet bread should be; so moist, crumbly and delicious. The lemon glaze to go with it is just the perfect added tang.
Whole Wheat No-Knead Bread Recipe (she: Maria)
Hello, Everybody! This is Maria from Shopgirl stopping by again to share a recipe with you! I’m so excited to share this recipe with you today, because I’ve been trying out and tweaking so many different bread recipes over the past couple of months, and this one is one of my favorites! I have made a couple variations of this whole wheat no-knead bread, and this version has great texture and flavor, and would be perfect to go along with some soup or a big salad in the summertime! What I love most about this recipe is not only that you don’t need to knead it, but that you simply mix all the ingredients in a bowl, cover it and let the dough sit for about 12 – 20 hours and then just bake it off and you have a beautiful loaf of bread! I usually prepare the dough in the evening and let it sit all night and then bake it in the morning. Here’s how you make it…
Lemon-Coconut Quick Bread (she: Cathy)
Hi there, friends! I’m so happy to be back here with you today, sharing this yummy Lemon-Coconut Quick Bread recipe! We love quick breads, especially for breakfast, and this one is just perfect for spring. It’s packed full of zesty lemon and toasted coconut and topped with a citrus honey butter that’s to-die-for. And best of all, my kids can’t get enough of it!
I find that homemade breakfast options usually go over better than packaged, which I guess is a good thing. The only problem is that I never know what be a favorite and what will be a flop! What I do know is that this bread was a FAVORITE! Not only did all three kids like it, they couldn’t get enough of it…..meaning it’s been gone for a while now. And I definitely need to make more of it!
Simple Corn Bread Muffins with Maple Butter (she: Jana)
These simple Corn Bread Muffins are one of my favorites and they are so quick and easy to throw together, they almost always make an appearance with any soup we have. They have just the right amount of sweetness in them and they’re not dry and crumbly like a lot of corn bread can be. They can be eaten plain, with butter or honey, jam or my favorite…maple butter. They make the perfect addition to your favorite soup. And if you’re planning on having soup or chili for the Super Bowl (Go BRONCOS!!! Yes, I’m a Coloradan and a Manning fan!!!) these would make the game (and soup!) even better. So check them out and add them to your party line up (or maybe just your next dinner).
Bonnie’s 4-Ingredient Soft Pretzels
So, I recently shared a recipe for Broccoli Cheese Soup and I promised that I would share the soft pretzel recipe that was in the picture. Today’s the day. I’ve already bragged about my sister-in-law, Bonnie, who is one of the many that supply me with delicious recipes, but this is another one of hers. (Other Bonnie recipes: Gingerbread Crumb Cake, Favorite Cinnamon Rolls, and Death by Special K) I first had these soft pretzels at a family gathering. She served them with a big pot of soup, and I had to have the recipe… along with everyone else. I love how there are only four ingredients and they’re all things I have on hand. Plus, the kids loved helping out on this one, shaping their own pretzel, painting on melted butter, salting…
