Hey ya’ll! Christina from FoodApparel.com checking in. I was trying to THINK GREEN and THINK SPRING when I posted here last, and guess what? It’s GREEN outside and it’s SPRING! Yay! This homemade pesto is a sauce that features basil as one of the main ingredients. I love serving this simple sauce over angel hair pasta. It makes for a really quick dinner on a busy day. You can grill up a chicken breast and throw it in there as well. The beauty is this sauce literally takes 5 minutes to put together. And if you want to, you can put any leftovers in an ice cube tray, freeze, and then bag it up to save for another day. Nice, huh?
Spinach artichoke dip is one of my very favorites. I order it from every restaurant that has it on the menu. And I’m not too picky about the vehicle I use to transfer it from bowl to mouth. Although chips or pita slices are often the preferred choice, I have been known to reach right for a spoon. As embarrassing as it is to admit, I’ve even scraped the bowl clean with my finger. Ask my husband. He’ll tell you.
To try something a little different, I decided to prepare a sweet dip for our dessert while my mom was in town to visit. Something silky and light that would go great with a reduced fat cookie. Here’s what I came up with:
Hey there, Or So She Says friends! It’s Cathy from Lemon Tree Dwelling, here today to share a fabulous SKINNY summer recipe with you! It’s that time of year…..bathing suit time….which, around here, is always a little bit daunting. This year it is especially daunting, because I just had a BABY!!
Made with plain Greek yogurt, Greek seasoning, minced garlic, lemon juice, kosher salt, and fresh ground pepper, this dip is naturally fat free, full of protein, and perfect for dipping your favorite summer veggies. It would be extra delicious with a sprinkle of feta cheese….but that sorta takes away the “skinny”. Either way, it has become my favorite new way to eat veggies…during bathing suit season, post-baby, or anytime!
Zesty Black Bean Dip is an appetizer or snack that’s light in calories yet robust in flavor and can be enjoyed year round. It would be equally embraced on Super Bowl Sunday, Cinco de Mayo, any old ordinary day, or a special occasion.
Hello, Or So She Says readers!! It’s Cathy from Lemon Tree Dwelling, back with another fun recipe to share with you. This time, I’m using Cookie Butter! Anyone who has ever tasted Cookie Butter can tell you just how amazing it really is….so amazing that, once you’ve had it, you can’t stop thinking about it! Which leads you to do things like eat it by the spoonful straight from the jar, and tell everyone you know about it, and come up with as many different ways as you can to use it (mostly because eating it straight from the jar only feels acceptable for so long….)
Well, with the start of the school year rapidly approaching, I thought it might be time for me to start dreaming up some Cookie Butter after-school snacks. I have two kiddos in school this year – one starting kindergarten and another starting second grade, and both of them LOVE Cookie Butter!
What’s a Bachelorette Finale Party without appetizers?? Um, lame. So, here I am thinking ahead, gearing up for the oh-so-obvious finale. It’s Ari, right?? My bets are on him. Dips are always my favorite appetizer. Can you tell? Avocado Feta Dip, Chocolate Cherry Dip, Caramel Toffee Dip, Peanut Butter Yogurt Dip, Queso Dip, Artichoke Spinach…
My name is Sarah and I blog at Clover Lane where I write about raising children, about staying home and slowing down, and appreciating these days that fly by us. I have a husband of 18 years, and five children, 4 boys and 1 (thank gosh almighty) girl. The oldest is 17 and the youngest…
I love appetizers….and I’ve tried lots and lots of them. As a big fan or artichoke/spinach dip, I must try it at every restaurant I go to. I finally found my favorite…mmmm, it’s so good AND it has a hint of spice to it. Since I knew the waitress…I convinced her to slip me the…
