St. Patrick’s Day Word Search (she: Liz)

This word search is one of those small activities I like to do with my kids to get them excited for an upcoming holiday. My son has asked me at least once a week if it’s time for him to wear his green yet. He is very worried about all the pinching. This St. Patrick’s Day word search will be a fun activity to do with the kids to not only help them get excited about St. Patrick’s Day, but learn a little something about it as well.

Family Night Lesson: Secret Service Mission (she: Adelle)

I really enjoy the month of February. First of all, it is short. Only 28 days! It is full of hearts, cupids, and candy! Yum. And, it is one month closer to Spring. Hallelujah! I also love that we get to celebrate random acts of kindness. There are few things that bring more happiness in life than service. This month’s Family Night lesson and activity are centered around service. I put together a fun printable to get your family in the spirit of serving–Secret Service style!

February 2016 Visiting Teaching Message

As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, we are in a congregation where we are asked to go and visit assigned ladies each month to really get to know them, share a quick message and find out if they have any needs to be met. It’s one of the ways we build friendships and help our leaders know any needs that families have (there would be too many for leaders to visit them all individually!).

For those of you who aren’t members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, I hope you can use these quotes and scriptures as well.

Elf on the Shelf Disney Style (she: Adelle)

This is the only year that the Diamond Celebration and the holidays will happen simultaneously. Since it’s a special year, I thought it would be fun to take a popular holiday tradition and put a Disney spin on it. I’m talking about doing your Elf on the Shelf Disney style. It would be a great way to countdown to your holiday Disneyland vacation, or even announce the gift of a future Disneyland vacation to your family!

October 2015 Visiting Teaching Message Printable (she: Kiki)

When I think of all of the problems, the issues, the struggles and the trials in life, I have no doubt that we could all make it through life a little happier if we all followed this message of charity and love. We would look outward to serve and bless and each time I have done that in my life, I am filled with love for others immediately. I made these sweet printables for you to share (and keep) and hope they will help to share the message this month!

Printable Reading Log (she: Liz)

First grade is such an important year in school. My son did start learning to read in kindergarten, but struggled. This year I am really focused on keeping him on track with his reading. The school encourages 20 minutes of reading every night. 20 minutes is a lot for a first grader, but I do think it’s important to encourage him to read each night and I thought he would be more excited about it if we kept track on this printable reading log.
