Recently, the prophet Russell M. Nelson of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints made a special prophetic announcement. He said in an official statement to the media, “The Lord has impressed upon my mind the importance of the name He has revealed for His Church, even The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.” Read on to see why…
At my kids’ school, we asked dads, grandpas, uncles, older brothers, basically any adult male to come into the classroom, read a story/tale to the class, and then bring a neck tie to leave with the class to pin on the turkey as the turkey’s “tale” feathers. If you don’t have a school setting to use this activity for, then use your own home! You could ask the males to bring a story and tie for Thanksgiving Day or decorate tale feathers and add to the turkey.
This may seem like a weird question, but do you have a favorite word? I’m not talking about a name or place, I literally mean a word. It could fun to say or spell. The meaning is not the important part! Razzmatazz is one of my favorites. Indubitably. Mojito. Thrum. All words that tickle my tongue and give me a little thrill. I love a good word game. Years ago I came across this great countdown on Ted McCagg’s blog: he made brackets for each letter and finally winnowed the word list down to the best word ever. Since the colder months are coming, I thought I’d turn this idea into a full blown family word game! It would be perfect to set up around the house during a long Thanksgiving weekend with family. Also great for a youth group or Family Home Evening.

These printable primary talks are perfect for children who are asked to speak, because, they are on topic and age appropriate. I leave a few bits and pieces out of the text to allow the child to fill in their own thoughts and ideas. This helps the child feel connected to the message and gives them some sense of ownership over the message.
Who doesn’t love curling up with a good book?! I used to read a lot before I got married and popped out a baby… It’s crazy how caught up you can get in your “To Do” lists and appointments and kids’ soccer practices and never really take any time for yourself. I think finding time to sit down, relax, and read a great book every once in a while could keep us all from becoming stressed-out-groucho-moms and wives!
So to assist you in your efforts to find stress-relief we thought we’d ask some actual book club members (from the ‘Or so she says…’ Facebook page) what their favorite book choices have been and share them with all of you

I LOVE homemade marinara sauce. Love. It tastes so much better than the jarred stuff, it’s a great way to hide veggies from the kids, and it’s easy to make a big-mama batch and freeze for later. This was my first attempt at making a ton of homemade marinara sauce, and it really was so…
