I know I’m not alone in feeling like the world is becoming more confusing and chaotic every day. You can’t turn on the tv without being bombarded with devastating and disturbing news. You can’t pull up Facebook without running across contention. Whether the world is literally more unsafe and immoral or we are led to believe that by the media, the effect on our hearts and minds are the same.
Fear and confusion.
The holidays are a mad rush of “buy this! Get that! And how many more people are left to shop for???” And all too often it’s easy to lose track of the true Christmas spirit. This Family Night service project activity, is a great way to bring back the true reason for the season, and bring the family a little closer.

I’ve been looking for fun ways to bring a little more meaning into my family’s Christmas this year. It’s so easy to get caught up in all the presents and shopping, and to forget what we’re really celebrating this time of year!
I plan on looking into those more next year when my little man is a little older and can understand more, but for now Christ-centered Christmas books are going to be my main focus. He loves being read to! Plus, it’s never too early to start teaching your kids about Christ, the nativity story, serving others, and the spirit of Christmas.
I am so pumped about this and my boys are over-the-moon to finally have permission to buy all Star Wars movies for a marathon! I love that it’s so affordable, but I also love that there are lots and lots of movies available and with family filtering options. To be able to remove the profanity or nudity in a movie is HUGE for me! This is a great family-friendly service that I’m so excited to share with you!

When I was a kid, a stuffed stocking was like the icing on the Christmas cake! I loved rushing over to my stocking after all the presents were opened to see what final surprises were hiding in there. Now that I’m a mom, I love finding just the right items to fill my family’s stockings, but I don’t always have the time to shop around. The solution this year came as kind of a surprise. While I was in Payless shoe shopping with my girls, it dawned on me what a perfect store it was to get the stocking stuffers I needed for everyone on my list.
