Instead of sharing a recipe with you today, I want to share some ideas for how to get kids talking about their day. We usually do this at the dinner table (because what doesn’t revolve around food?!), but it can really be done any time you have a quiet moment to talk (in the car, after homework, before bed, etc).
For homeschool, we learned all about bees. Have you ever learned about bees?? Holy smokes, those things are AMAZING. In a future post, I’ll share with you some of my favorite products for teaching kids about bees. But in the meantime, I wanted to share this project with you… making BEESWAX CANDLES WITH KIDS.

I love that that Holiday Season begins with a focus on gratitude. The month of November is an ideal time to make a list of all the things you are grateful for. This festive Thanksgiving Family Night idea was created to help each member of your family understand the importance of “stuffing their lives” with gratitude for their many blessings.
First of all, let me explain visiting teaching. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, we are in a congregation where we are asked to go and visit certain ladies each month to really get to know them, share a quick message and find out if they have any needs that need to be met. It’s one of the ways we build friendships and help our leaders know any needs that families have.

We love working with any organization that also supports adoption, and it would be hard to find a company that does more to help foster kids find their forever families than Wendy’s. We’re thrilled at how much they support adoption!
Every Thanksgiving I get asked to bring a side dish to Thanksgiving dinner; this is something I am very thankful for! I’m going to let my mom and mother-in-law handle the heavy duty Thanksgiving dinner items for as long as possible. Preparing and cooking a turkey for 20+ people is not a skill I’ve developed yet, but side dishes? Those I can handle.

Thanksgiving is one of my most favorite holidays because it’s all about focusing on our blessings and being with family. This Witches’ Stew is so great because it’s an activity and yummy Halloween treat all in one (perfect for class parties!). You read the cute poem as your kids drop each ingredient into their witches’ pot. I just used a simple black and white paper treat cup, but it would be really fun to find little cauldrons (which I think I’ve see at Dollar Tree before) to mix your stew in!
Brian was not your normal everyday person. I could tell that from the moment I became best friends with his younger brother David, in the first grade, that Brian was different. He was overly excitable, was not possessed of social graces, and was awkward and overbearing in his conversations. His inabilities masked from plain view the precious person and soul alive and well in his spirit. His spiritual DNA, as with all of us, is divine, beautiful and glorious. He has undoubtedly passed his mortal test, and in my estimation, with high marks.
WOW! Here we are at week 8. I can’t believe we have already shared with you 8 great weeks of tailgating ideas. Have you enjoyed them all as much as I have? I know that my weekends full of food & football have been so much better since I added all these delicious recipes to the mix.
