Witches’ Stew – A Fun Activity and Treat for Kids (she: Brooke)

This Witches’ Stew is so great because it’s an activity and yummy Halloween treat all in one (perfect for class parties!). You read the cute poem as your kids drop each ingredient into their witches’ pot. I just used a simple black and white paper treat cup, but it would be really fun to find little cauldrons (which I think I’ve see at Dollar Tree before) to mix your stew in!

Halloween Family Night – Having Courage (she: Veronica)

Happy October my friends! It’s Veronica and I’m back with a fun and super easy Halloween Family Night! What is Family Night you ask? 🙂 We choose one day a week to spend time with our family. There is typically a lesson, activitiy or game and ALWAYS a treat. It’s the best way I know to reconnect as a family and to teach my kids valuable lessons in a fun and creative way. If you’ve never tried it, you should give it a go! You’ll love it!

Yummy Mummy Pretzel Dogs (she: Leesh and Lu)

In our family, we always like to have a festive Halloween dinner. It’s something our mom always did for us and we love to keep the tradition alive with our own kids. On the menu this year (and the past 2 years!) at my house are these yummy mummy pretzel dogs! They come together pretty quickly and the kids always go crazy for them because not only are they fun and spooky, they are equally delicious! Lu and I love to involve our kids in the kitchen, and rolling out the pretzel dough into long “snakes” before wrapping the mummies is the perfect job for little hands.

7 Ways to NOT Be a Halloween Humbug & Prize-Winning Chili (he: Dan)

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! That’s right, Halloween is by far (there’s not even a close second) my favorite holiday. I love costume parties! I really enjoy taking my kids out trick-or-treating. I am a huge fan of candy; Reese’s peanut butter cups and Reese’s Pieces are my all-time faves. I like the colors, the smells, pumpkin everything, and the crisp clean feel to the autumn air. However, I realize a sad truth that not everyone fancies Halloween as much as I do.

Top-Rated Board Games for Bored Families (she: Mariah)

With the weather getting colder we find ourselves venturing less and less into the outdoors and more and more toward the comfort of our fireplaces. Obviously board games can be whipped out no matter the weather, but in these cold winter months they can provide a family some much needed indoor entertainment and fun! So, I went on a search to find some really highly recommended board games for you to add to your collections this winter. I tried to find some that are less well-known because I know you’ve all got Monopoly and Clue already stashed away.

Cinderella Dress Makeover (she: Adelle)

Just like the Disneyland Resort got a dazzling transformation for the Diamond Celebration, the classic Cinderella got a pretty incredible makeover! And with Halloween right around the corner, I thought it would be fun to pretend I’m a Fairy Godmother and transform our classic Cinderella play dress into the modern version with beautiful butterfly accents. Luckily, you won’t need a magic wand to for this Cinderella dress makeover. All you need is an hour of time and a few craft supplies. Can you say Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo?
