I love this! It's so important to stand up for our beliefs and be a light to the world.

Ashamed No More ~ A Lesson Learned in 6th Grade (he: Dan)

Though unaware then, I now view our family moving the year between 5th and 6th grade as being inspired. Not just for the family, but for me specifically. I really needed to get away from the environment I was creating for myself. I have no doubt that my bad momentum would have carried over into my 6th grade year had we stayed.

Well… it’s officially back to school season and while you are probably crying over the prices of school supplies and clothes, here is a cheery little treat idea for you and…get ready for it…a FREE printable to go with it!!

No Bake Cookie Smoothie (she: Becky)

School is starting up soon for my kids, so we are trying to squeeze in as much fun as possible! We’ve hiked a lot of trails as a family, but I’ve also taken my 4 kids out by myself, and sometimes we hike with friends. They love it every time! One of the ways we like to fuel up before a hike is with a smoothie. Since my kids love No-Bake Cookies so much, we came up with a no bake cookie smoothie!

Be Your Best Self – Fill Your Bucket (she: Veronica)

For me personally, I love to give. I love to serve and help and be busy doing good things. I love taking care of my family and making sure they have what they need. Those things are important to me because they are important things! BUT…we must be willing to stop and take care of ourselves as well. When we get so wrapped up in taking care of everyone but ourselves, eventually what we will have to give may not be enough.

what are we so busy doing

What Are We So Busy Doing? (she: Lindsay)

Am I busy doing the right things? Am I sacrificing the best things I could be doing for things that are good, just not the best? If I were to strip the purpose of life down to the bare bones, I would say the thing that counts most is how we treat other people. How we make other people feel. What kind of real, authentic relationships we have created. The question is, am I too busy to do this?

Raising Gentlemen ~ or trying to!!

Raising Gentlemen: Encouraging My Sons to Treat Girls Respectfully (he: Dan)

It is my hope that I am raising gentlemen who are charming and polite. It is an even greater hope of mine that they will learn to treat women with the utmost respect, and even though it seems to be increasingly out of fashion, I hope they will employ chivalry into their treatment of women.
Sons, my promise to you is that if you take my advice, you will maximize your chance for love and satisfaction in this life.

Children's Books Your Kids Need on Their Bookshelf

Children’s Books Your Kids NEED on Their Bookshelf (she: Mariah)

I think there’s something totally awesome about children’s books; great illustrations, funny voices, silly characters. I think the best part about them, though, is that they can hold memories. I have a few books that I read to my son that my mom used to read to me, and every time we read them it’s like I get taken back in time! I remember the voices my mom used to use at certain parts of the books, all the feelings I used to feel as she turned the pages, and what pages were my favorites that I loved to linger on.
