Sunday FUN Day: Family Night (she: Adelle)

Family Night is a family activity that can be held once a week. Teach your children important values and how to be better family members, people, citizens, friends, and neighbors. Once a month, I will share a Family Night lesson on the blog to help get your creativity rolling and to inspire us all to try a little harder to be a little better.

August 2015 Visiting Teaching Message Printable (she: Kiki)

For those of you who aren’t members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, I hope you can use these quotes and scriptures as well. Most of the subjects are universal Christian subjects and the quotes and scriptures are inspiring and helpful for everyone!
This month’s message is titled Divine Attributes of Jesus Christ: Meek and Humble. As I read this message, I want to reevaluate my life and see what more I need to do to become more like a child.

Chocolate Hazelnut Pretzel Milkshake (she: Sierra)

I don’t know about your kids, but mine absolutely love milk! They ask for it all the time throughout the day and I don’t mind one bit. So for our treat this week, of course, we had to incorporate milk into it some how. Bingo! Milkshakes!

We took all of our favorite ingredients and created this chocolatey hazelnut pretzel milkshake with a little hint of peanut butter, that I know your kids will love and will leave everyone savoring summer for a little while longer.

Parenting a Strong Willed Child – Learning to Love Tate (he: Dan)

Tate’s existence is a beautiful and unique thread woven into the tapestry of my life. At times I can’t see that, nor do I appreciate it because I am standing too close to the art. When I take a few steps back, I realize just how brilliant and precious his addition is. I am thankful for a merciful and loving God who at times gives me glimpses of his limitless love. I am thankful for His patience with me as I parent the souls of His precious children. I love my little Tater-Tot! I am so glad that he is a part of my life. It is my hope that someday he will say the same about me.

Mickey Mouse Ice Cream Bars – Make Your Own! (she: Adelle)

We are in the midst of summer and that means I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream! One of my favorite treats ever since growing up have been Mickey Mouse ice cream bars. I used to get them when the ice cream van would make its way through my neighborhood. Now we get them each time we visit Disneyland as a family. Because I believe in Disney magic at home, I figured out a fun and easy way to make our own Mickey Mouse ice cream bars.

Tropical Peach Popsicles – Filled with Fruit! (she: Liz)

We LOVE popsicles at our house, but sometimes all that sugar is not so fun for mom. I thought it would fun if we made our own popsicles and adding some fruit and cutting back on the sugar to make it a little more healthy. The kids and I made these tropical peach popsicles with real peaches and fruit juices to combat our summer heat.

The BEST Outdoor Family Games ~ Great For Reunions, BBQs, or Parties! (she: Mariah)

One of the greatest parts of summertime are all the outdoor get-togethers! Don’t you think?? Reunions, BBQs, pool parties, camping trips, church activities, etc. are all what make summers memorable. I actually have a BBQ AND a family reunion coming up this very weekend in fact! 🙂

While planning the menu and sending out invitations are one matter, planning activities is a whole other ball game. What activities can you provide that people won’t think are totally lame and will actually participate in? What games would be fun for the kids and the adults? Well look no further! I’ve found some great outdoor family games all available through Amazon to make your next summer get-together your best yet!

Choosing to Encourage Others

Choosing to Encourage Others (she: Lindsay)

What if we SEE the moms who look like they have it all together and the moms who look like everything’s falling apart and the moms in between? And instead of looking away or acting like we don’t see what’s happening, we stop and we encourage. Motherhood as we know it will undoubtedly change when we choose to actively and consistently encourage each other.
