Snow Globe Art Project For Kids (she: Brooke)

ByBrooke January 13, 2015February 4, 2025

Happy New Year OSSS readers! It’s Brooke from Blissful Roots. I’m so excited to on board for another year here at Or So She Says. I love spending time with all of you once a month, and cannot wait to see what the new year has in store.
Today, I have a simple winter art activity you can do with your kiddos. My boys have been making this whimsical snow globe art project for years now, and for some reason I’ve never posted them before. I’m a bit of a snowflake fanatic, and so I try to squeeze in as many snowflake activities (check out our beautiful symmetrical snowflake art here) during the wintery month of January as I can.
The fun part about this art project is that each globe can be as individual as the creator. The globes are kind of like snowflakes themselves- no two are ever exactly alike. And they are incredibly easy to make!

Well, because setting goals together and working towards goals, brings us closer as a family. It builds unity, trust and is a great opportunity to teach our children skills and values.

Houseplant Care – And a Giveaway! (she: Becky)

ByBecky January 10, 2015January 8, 2015

Hi Or So She Says readers! I’m Becky from Bite of Delight, and I’m so thrilled to be a new contributor here! I’m a Utah girl married to my best friend, and together we have four little buddies. I love to cook and I spend most of my time in the kitchen. We don’t eat elaborate meals every night, but we do eat together as a family every night. I love reading and Sunday afternoon naps and a clean house. Things that I miss since having 4 kids, but they’re all slowly coming back into my life!
Normally you’ll find me in my kitchen elbow-deep in bread dough or chocolate, but for my first post here, I want to talk to you about houseplant care because…it’s Houseplant Appreciation Day! When I found out about this fun day, I talked to the nice folks at Western Gardens and they agreed to help me out with a giveaway just for you! (Keep reading for details!)

Healthy Greek Chicken Pita Sandwich (she: Jana)

ByJana January 9, 2015July 2, 2018

Happy New year everyone It’s Jana from Double the Deliciousness. I love the fresh start that a new year brings. It’s a great time to reflect and see what improvements you can make in your life. One of my fresh starts/goals that I try to achieve every year is to eat healthier and exercise regularly. I always start off doing really well because I think my body is in a state of sugar/junk overdose and my body really likes the idea of vegetables & good for you food!

And that is just what this sandwich is! Chuck full of veggies and good for you, this healthy Greek chicken pita sandwich is sure to wow. Just what my body is craving at this point. And to make it even better, this one is so quick and easy and tastes as good as any full fat recipe out there!

Apple Cinnamon Bran Muffins

ByMariel January 6, 2015July 2, 2018

So, somehow I got it in my mind that I was craving bran muffins. Does that happen to normal people? I made these Apple Cinnamon Bran Muffins, and they were amazing. So amazing, that I think I think all efforts of eating healthy went out the window, as I believe I ate 7 of them, when they came out of the oven. According to My Fitness Pal app, I had exceeded my entire calorie/fat/carb allotment for the entire day. Yep.

Honey Granola … An Easy Snack (she: Christina)

ByChristina Lakey January 5, 2015July 2, 2018

It’s time to make New Year’s Resolutions. You know, I used to be on a resolutions strike. I thought, why just make goals once a year that I’m probably going to fail at within two weeks time? I will just try to set goals when the need comes up throughout the year. While this kind of makes sense to me still, I finally came around last year and realized that I can spend a little time at the beginning of the year to focus on where my life is going – maybe not just for the year, but in general, and make some plans around that. Looking back, did I actually accomplish more? I can honestly say YES. So, I will stop going against the grain on this one and jump on the bandwagon!

Maybe you are looking to eat healthier and more natural (less processed ). And maybe you are looking to be better with your budget. Well, here’s a simple recipe that can help you achieve both of those goals. Do I have your attention? Well, keep reading then.

52 Family Night Lessons for Every Week of the Year! (she: Mariah)

ByMariah January 5, 2015December 19, 2018

Happy New Year everyone! I hope all your resolutions are going well so far! Something that I want to be better at this year is having weekly family nights or family home evenings.

For those of you who don’t know what family home evening is, it’s basically a night where your family spends time with each other and they usually include a little lesson, an activity, and (if you’re lucky) a treat.
