Sunday Sunshine

Sunday Sunshine

Happy Sunday! I recently mentioned in my The Moment I Realized Family History is Awesome post that I’m part of a family history class at church. We spend a lot of time talking about the importance of keeping our own personal history. It got me thinking how a lot of what I write on this blog is part of my personal history that can be passed down. I love that!

With that in mind…

After my family history class, I transition to Relief Society. That’s the class at church for them women. It’s my favorite one. With all the chaos of life, the moment I sit down in Relief Society, I feel exactly that… relief.

Baked Peach Almond Oatmeal CUps

Baked Peach Almond Oatmeal Cups (she: Jen)

Hey guys! I’m Jen, and I share any and everything baked on my blog, Baked by an Introvert. I’m so happy to be joining Mariel and her team as a contributor here!

Oatmeal is hands down one of my favorite breakfast options. If it’s baked it’s even better!

These baked peach almond oatmeal cups are so easy to throw together. All that is required is one bowl, a handful of healthy ingredients, and 25 minutes to bake. Of course the largest component of the oatmeal cups is the oatmeal. You will need the old fashioned kind. If you’re aiming for gluten free, be sure the label states certified gluten free.

Almond butter is what I used as a binder for today’s oatmeal cups. If you don’t care for almond butter you can always use peanut butter instead. And you can easily make your own almond butter at home.

The oatmeal cups are sweetened with maple syrup. Make sure to use pure maple syrup. Or you can use honey in place of the syrup. I’ve made these with both and either way, they are delicious.

The Moment I Realized Family History Is AWESOME!

The Moment I Realized Family History Is AWESOME!

This post started out as a promo for RootsTech, a class I’m teaching, and a giveaway… but, I change it all and decided to tell you about a special experience and realization I had. You can find the other stuff at the bottom of this post.

Get comfortable.

Let me tell you a little story… a few years back, my husband and I were asked to attend a family history class at church. We both went into it with the wrong attitudes. I felt like, ‘Family history is super cool… but, I just don’t have time for one more thing right now.’ My husband was like, ‘Family history is super lame. That’s all.’ But we went to the class, to support our bishop… and maybe to socialize. That’s the truth.

Frozen at Disneyland; an Insider’s Tips and Tricks (she: Kim)

Happy New Year! It’s Kimberly from Packed with Fun, the official blog for Get Away Today. The beginning of a new year always fills me with anticipation and excitement. At Get Away Today it’s an especially exciting year because we are celebrating our 25th Anniversary. Woohoo! One of the most exciting things to happen for families visiting the Disneyland Resort early this year is the new addition of Frozen experiences and activities. For parents with kids who are fans of Anna, Elsa and Olaf, it couldn’t come soon enough! There is so much going on and it officially kicks off today.

Snow Globe Art Project For Kids (she: Brooke)

Happy New Year OSSS readers! It’s Brooke from Blissful Roots. I’m so excited to on board for another year here at Or So She Says. I love spending time with all of you once a month, and cannot wait to see what the new year has in store.
Today, I have a simple winter art activity you can do with your kiddos. My boys have been making this whimsical snow globe art project for years now, and for some reason I’ve never posted them before. I’m a bit of a snowflake fanatic, and so I try to squeeze in as many snowflake activities (check out our beautiful symmetrical snowflake art here) during the wintery month of January as I can.
The fun part about this art project is that each globe can be as individual as the creator. The globes are kind of like snowflakes themselves- no two are ever exactly alike. And they are incredibly easy to make!
