Hi! I’m Holly from Bits of Everything and I am so ready for Fall! Are you? I’m sharing a fun fall leaves printable today that will add the perfect touch to your Fall decor.
My mom always loved the changing leaves, especially red leaves. Changing leaves will always remind me of her. I loved this quote that is just a good reminder to slow down and enjoy the season. I know… it’s easier said than done. One tradition that we always take the time for is to take a drive up the canyon to see the leaves. I’m excited to do that this coming weekend! It’s one of my favorite traditions I do with my family.

Hi everyone, Sharon here again from Lemon Squeezey. I’m happy to be visiting ‘Or so she says…’ today with a free printable thank you card that you can download for personal use.

I drew this ‘Thank You’ card just this week and am really happy with the whimsical style. For best results, print it on card stock and use a 3.5″ x 5″ envelope and you’ll have a perfect thank you card. I created two different color schemes to choose from- a pink/blue combo or a green/blue combo.

Apple picking, just like other fruit picking, comes early in Georgia–as early as the beginning of August and will last until October. Since I recently used my last canned homemade applesauce, I knew apple picking would have to be a summer activity instead of our traditional fall activity. If you have had a chance to check out my blog, Darling Darleen, you will know we take apple picking very seriously!
I came home with a large variety of apples. We picked about 6 of the 8 varieties. I know I needed to make my picking more precise for the baking and canning I plan to do. So I put together an apple guide of some of the most popular varieties for the next time you go pick. This “Best Use for Apples” chart is a combined guide gathered from Pick Your Own and US Apple Association. It’s easy to print, so take it on your next apple picking adventure! Some helpful recommendations: for baking pies, choose apples that hold their shape and combine varieties of sweet and tart. For juicing, choose an apple that has a balance of sweet and tart like honey crisp. And for sauce–choose a sweeter apple if you prefer a low-sugar applesauce.

My daughter somehow got a hold of a doorknob hanger from a hotel that says “I need some me time,” and she has had it on her doorknob for the past month and loved it. Of course I decided it is time to make my own doorknob hangers for my little kids!
This printable has two sides; one for when your kids are sleeping, and one for when they’re just hanging out in their rooms. This can be printed on cardstock or even regular paper if it’s all you have on hand.

Hi! It’s Sharon from Lemon Squeezy, happy to be joining you again this month on ‘Or so she says…’ I’m back with a couple free snail-mail printable cards that you can download. I love a simple card to mail to a friend or attach to a plate of cookies.

You can download one of these cards and print on card-stock. They fit A2 size envelopes which you can find online or at a paper store like xpedx.
I made two different cards, a “Thank You” and what you could call a “just because” card. Each has two color palette choices because sometimes I just can’t decide which colors I like best, so now you get both!

Hello again! It’s Veronica from Nine A Plenty. I hope everyone is enjoying their summer! It’s such a fun time for families, but I always can count on my kids getting stir-crazy. They do much better with routines and things they can count on. Lately, we’ve had a bunch of craziness, so I thought it was time for a fun activity that brought them closer together. Thus, the Family Mailbox has begun!
What is a Family Mailbox? Well, it really can be anything you would like it to be. That’s the best part. For us, we’ve been writing little notes to each other. These can express love, appreciation, something the other person does to make you happy, something you admire in them, etc. I’ve been surprised at how excited they were to do this for each other. Our mailbox has been full and it’s been fun to “deliver” the mail.

Children’s Book and Activity… A House Is a House for Me (she: Brooke)

Hey, Or So She Says readers! It’s Brooke from Blissful Roots. How was your 4th of July weekend? Fun, and festive, I hope!
I’m sure if you’re not sick of hearing it by now, you might be soon, but I pulled this children’s book and activity from my first grade teaching files. I’ve been wanting to share it for quite some time, and finally have gotten around to it. It’s the perfect activity for a lazy (or bored) summer day, and you can actually add to it all summer long!
This is the book you’ll need. It’s called A House is a House for Me (click here to listen to it on YouTube). Have you heard of it? If not, it’s one you need to add to your collection as soon as possible. It talks about all of the different houses in our world. A hill is a house for an ant, a web is a home for a spider, the sea is a house for a whale, a husk is a home for a corn cob, etc. So many clever ideas in this book! It makes your children (and you!) realize how many things house things in our world.

Now that summer is here, I’ve decided that it is time to organize my kids’ chores. I was inspired to make this chore chart printable after seeing some fancy ones online. For those ones you had to buy and cut sheet metal, make semi-complicated magnets, buy a frame, and also find a place to hang the frames. So, I thought of a much simpler solution (and you only have to buy one inexpensive thing), and I made THIS free download that you can use on your fridge, or any other magnetic surface.
