Family Night is a family activity that can be held once a week. Teach your children important values and how to be better family members, people, citizens, friends, and neighbors. Once a month, I will share a Family Night lesson on the blog to help get your creativity rolling and to inspire us all to try a little harder to be a little better.
One of the greatest parts of summertime are all the outdoor get-togethers! Don’t you think?? Reunions, BBQs, pool parties, camping trips, church activities, etc. are all what make summers memorable. I actually have a BBQ AND a family reunion coming up this very weekend in fact! 🙂
While planning the menu and sending out invitations are one matter, planning activities is a whole other ball game. Hey Everyone, it’s Adelle from Packed with Fun, the official blog for Get Away Today. If your summer is anything like mine it is full of road trips! One of my family’s favorite go-to road trip games is “Would you rather?” It can keep my kids entertained, chatting and laughing for miles and miles. Who remembers and loves color by number? Some of my earliest memories as a little girl are of me waking up WAY before my parents were wanting to, and my mom handing me the crayons and coloring books. I still remember my preschool-aged little self sitting in the dimly lit, quiet house coloring while everyone else slept. Funny how things stick with you. I’m still an early-riser, and I still LOVE to color!
This is a fun activity that you can play any time, but because Father’s Day is coming, I thought I’d put a fun spin on it. It’s a game that is typically called “Don’t Eat Pete”, and we love it. It’s a great game for ALL AGES, which is always a huge bonus. For Father’s Day we’ve changed the name to “Don’t Eat Dad”.

Because they are so very important, and so very awesome!! I’ve had a ton of fun ideas swimming around in my little brain, so it was hard to whittle it down. There are a lot of ideas, so just choose what would work the best for your family. Hey all! It’s Lindsay from Lindsay Ross Blog. Now that it’s warming up in Utah (well, winter never really happened here this year but don’t get me started on that disappointment) I’m starting to think about our adventures for the summer and warmer weather.
When I talk about camping for us, I’m talking in a tent, no running water, no toilets, out in the wilderness kind of camping. I’m not a big fan of campgrounds. People are too close. It’s too loud. People are too close. You know. We like our space when camping. And peace. And generally we don’t get cell service up there so we don’t get distracted by real life (always a plus in my book). So we make an effort to do full-on camping. Takes quite a bit more prep work, but we think it’s worth it for the experience.
