Origami Heart Love Notes (she: Amy)

On this coming Valentine’s Day, I plan to fold some origami hearts with little love notes inside and leave them everywhere for my daughter to discover.

Since my little love is still learning her A-B-Cs, I’ll be drawing pictures in the origami as well as using words she recognizes. To make this super easy for you, I’ve created a printable of the origami paper for you to download. It includes 6 rectangles to make 6 hearts. All you need to do is cut, write and fold. I plan to hide these all over the house – peaking out from under her pillow, taped to her toothbrush, stuck under her cereal bowl, attached to the seat belt of her car seat, hiding in her jacket pocket, etc.

I can’t believe it’s already 2014! If there’s one thing I enjoy almost as much as Disneyland, it’s a Disneyland top 10 list. Yesterday, our contact David, from the Disneyland Resort, stopped by our office to remind our staff of all that there is to do at the resort. The review and tips he shared made me even more excited for my upcoming trip. Happy 2014 everyone…hopefully it is off to a great start! After the holidays are done and the new year is upon us, I usually find that I have accumulated a pantry full of baking ingredients, haphazardly thrown onto the shelves in my haste to get everything done in those last crazy weeks of December. Then in January comes the resolution to be organized. But all of those ingredients! What is a girl to do but keep on baking? Today I am sharing a concoction that came together because I was trying to use up some of those pantry items so that I can get down to organizing. Please tell me I am not the only crazy person that does that…?

Has anyone else noticed, besides my family, that I haven’t been cooking as much?? It’s true. I totally agree with your responses, when I asked… we need to get more recipes on the blog! Everyone suffers when I’m on a diet. Just teasin, but I’m pretty sure at least once a week my kids will say, ‘Mom, do you fit into your jeans YET?!?’ They’re itching for some pancakes! Sunday is my ‘free day,’ and my kids don’t want me to make some never-made-before blog recipe, they want their old favorites. But we’ll compromise, and I promise I’ll get you (and me) some new recipes! …ya just gotta wait until my free day. EXCEPT for this recipe, Kale Chips. I could eat this any day of the week. It’s healthy, delicious, and a great snack. Even better, I’m not kidding… kids love it.

A clean slate, a chance to do anything you want and start fresh! I Love the Book of Mormon (& it’s my gift to you.)

I remember the first post I did, telling everyone that I’m a Mormon and inviting people to learn more about why I believe what I believe. It was scary! I don’t know why. My readers are the nicest, ever. But, it’s still a little unnerving to put yourself out there and open yourself up for mean comments/emails, and a potential loss of readers and advertisers. But, I knew it was worth it to me. It is because of what I know that I feel so much happiness, hope, and peace, and it feels kinda selfish to not at least offer it to others. So, with much anxiety, I clicked ‘publish,’ and I wasn’t turning back. I was waiting for the rude emails to come in, but they never did. Not once.
