Think Spring, think delicate sweets, think Chocolate Drizzled Orange Oatmeal Lace Cookies. They’re dainty, delicate, fancy, and did I mention, yummy? You can keep these simple, or go ahead and dress them up with some orange zest (or extract) and chocolate drizzles. This is the ultimate excuse to make a mess in the kitchen for the sake of “art”. Serve these at your next brunch, tea party, or whenever you just want to feel fancy!

I look forward to it so much… probably because life is just too darn stressful, and I need it so much. Hey all! It’s Lindsay from Lindsay Ross Blog. Now that it’s warming up in Utah (well, winter never really happened here this year but don’t get me started on that disappointment) I’m starting to think about our adventures for the summer and warmer weather.
When I talk about camping for us, I’m talking in a tent, no running water, no toilets, out in the wilderness kind of camping. I’m not a big fan of campgrounds. People are too close. It’s too loud. People are too close. You know. We like our space when camping. And peace. And generally we don’t get cell service up there so we don’t get distracted by real life (always a plus in my book). So we make an effort to do full-on camping. Takes quite a bit more prep work, but we think it’s worth it for the experience.

Since spring break starts tomorrow, I am definitely starting to have summer on my mind. And with the warmer weather we’ve been having, it seems like the perfect time to start pulling…
First of all, let me explain visiting teaching. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, we are in a congregation where we are asked to go and visit certain ladies each month to really get to know them, share a quick message and find out if they have any needs that need to be met. It’s one of the ways we build friendships and help our leaders know any needs that families have. (There would be too many for them to visit them all!) So why do I love printables + visiting teaching? I LOVE putting to paper thoughts and quotes that inspire and uplift me, my family and those around me and visiting teaching has been such a blessing in my life. I have met so many incredible women who have blessed my life through both visiting teaching and being taught as well! I love the thought of leaving a little thought for them to hang up and think about throughout the month.
So, here’s how it went at my house… I heard Meet the Mormons was in theaters and I was so curious about it. My husband heard it was out, and he was like, ‘Eh, we ARE Mormon, why do we need to see it?’ He had a point. Was there really anything in the movie that we wouldn’t know already, being members our whole life? Needless to say, we never saw it in the theater. Although, I hear it did AWESOME (the #1 film in over 100 locations across the country) and the church just donated $1.8 million dollars of the profits to The Red Cross.
Just this last month, the movie became available for streaming on Amazon. We needed an easy idea for a Family Night, so decided we would pile on the couch, and watch Meet the Mormons together. Me, my grumbling husband, and 6 kids.
In preparation for the upcoming General Conference, I’ve been sharing one favorite talk from a past conference each Sunday. Last week, I shared the awesome talk about The Tender Mercies of The Lord. This week, I wanted to share Come What May, and Love It, by Joseph B. Wirthlin.
So, I love this talk because there are always going to be ups and downs in our lives. But, just like Elder Wirthlin’s mom would say to him, ‘Come what may, and love it.’ In the talk, he gives several tips on how to feel happier in life… and they’re awesome!
Antique Window Makeover – making it in the mountainsIn our old home, I had this lovely vintage window hanging over our fireplace. It’s so full of chippy rustic charm and I really love the personality that it injects into the room! Right from the start, I liked the white paint on the front, but I have to admit, I wasn’t exactly fond of the dark green colour on the side and back. Time for a makeover me-thinks!
Last month I shared some of my favorite reasons of why I love my local library so much. This month to go along with my favorite past time of reading, I wanted to share with you 5 novels for spring, which are some of my favorite books that I have personally read and loved over the years.
These are the novels that have stayed with me long after I turned the final page. The stories that made me disappointed to learn there was no sequel or continuation. That’s what makes a good story though, the development of characters and the words so well written, you feel like you are actually there taking part in the story yourself.
